Drug test showed amphetamine in 19-year-old driver's system

Police from Lwówek's traffic department detained a 19-year-old after checking an Opel in Krzew Wielki. The man had drugs in his possession.

The incident occurred on Saturday in Krzew Wielki, in the Lwówek County, in the Bolesławiec region. Police officers from the Lwówek traffic unit identified a Opel for a check, which was being driven by a 19-year-old resident of Lwówek County. The behavior of the young driver raised the suspicions of the officers, so they checked whether he was under the influence of intoxicants.

"The preliminary drug test showed the presence of amphetamine in the 19-year-old's system. The police also conducted a personal search of the man. During this, they discovered intoxicants in the form of marijuana and amphetamine." - says junior asp. Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the Lwówek Śląski County Police Headquarters.

The 19-year-old was detained and taken to the hospital, where blood was drawn for detailed laboratory tests. After the necessary procedures, the man was placed in a police cell.

After spending the night at the station, the 19-year-old driver was charged with possession of intoxicants. His potential responsibility for driving under the influence of drugs will be determined by the results of the blood tests.
