Bolesławiec: two drunk drivers arrested during morning checks

Bolesławiec police arrested two drivers under the influence of alcohol on September 1. Both lost their driving licenses and will face court.

Two intoxicated drivers were apprehended on September 1 in the morning hours by officers from the Traffic Department of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. The checks conducted by the Bolesławiec police ended with both men having their driving licenses revoked.

The first of the detained is a 43-year-old resident of the Bolesławiec district. A sobriety test showed that he had over 0.5 promille of alcohol in his system. The second driver, a 47-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, was operating a vehicle with over 0.6 promille of alcohol in his breath.

The police officers revoked both men's driving licenses. The drivers will face charges for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Such an offense carries a penalty of up to 3 years in prison, financial consequences, and a long-term loss of driving privileges.

The Bolesławiec police remind that even a small amount of alcohol can affect reaction time, concentration, and situational assessment on the road. Officers urge not to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.
