Wanted by police from Bolesławiec arrested in the United Kingdom and brought back to Poland [VIDEO]

A 36-year-old citizen of Slovakia, wanted by a warrant by the police from Bolesławiec, has been taken to prison.

36-year-old citizen of Slovakia, wanted by the officers of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, was detained in the United Kingdom. The man was pursued based on a wanted notice issued by the District Court in Bolesławiec. After the extradition procedure was completed, he was handed over to the Polish authorities and brought back to the country.

The case concerns property crimes that the 36-year-old committed in 2021 in the Bolesławiec district. This included various thefts. For the committed acts, the Bolesławiec court sentenced him to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment.

When the convicted person failed to report to serve his sentence, the court issued a wanted notice for him. The search was conducted by officers from the Criminal Department of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, including members of the Team for the Search and Identification of Persons.

During the investigation, Bolesławiec police checked information about the man's whereabouts. Initially, it was determined that he might have returned to his country, but the indicated address did not confirm this information. Further actions indicated that the 36-year-old was in the United Kingdom.

As a result, the police from Bolesławiec took steps to initiate international searches. As a result of cooperation between services, the man was detained in the United Kingdom and subsequently handed over to Poland as part of the extradition procedure.

The 36-year-old was transported by officers of the National Police Headquarters by air from London to Warsaw. After being brought back to the country, he was sent to a correctional facility, where he is to serve the imposed sentence of 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment.
